Haf-Afl Signs MOU with Minesto Following OEE 2025 in Brussels

Haf-Afl has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with leading ocean energy technology developer Minesto as a direct outcome of meetings held during the Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) 2025 conference in Brussels.

The agreement marks an important milestone in Haf-Afl’s work to develop commercially viable ocean energy projects in Iceland. Through the collaboration, Haf-Afl and Minesto will work together on site identification, feasibility assessments and early-stage project development, with the aim of enabling investable tidal energy projects tailored to Icelandic conditions.

The partnership combines Haf-Afl’s extensive knowledge of Iceland’s ocean energy resources and local energy system with Minesto’s world-leading tidal energy technology, designed to operate efficiently in low-flow tidal streams and ocean currents.

The MOU strengthens Haf-Afl’s portfolio of international cooperation partners and reflects the company’s strategy of working closely with proven technology providers to accelerate the deployment of predictable, renewable ocean energy in Iceland.
