Haf-Afl and Vestmannaeyjar sign a memorandum of understanding.

Íris Róbertsdóttir, mayor of Vestmannaeyjar and Eyvar Örn Geirsson, CEO of Haf-Afl signed on April 30th. a memorandum of understanding on behalf of Vestmannaeyjabær and Haf-Afl, which pertains to examining the conditions and feasibility for the installation of wave power plants at Vestmannaeyjar.

It is a new technology whose approach is to ensure electricity security for communities through the responsible use of resources, the protection of nature, innovation and the development of the economy.

Haf-Afl is excited to take on the project and the work ahead, will result in a nature-friendly, local energy solution that will benefit the community in Vestmannaeyjar and Iceland as a whole.

Haf-Afl thanks the town council for their trust and good progress in this matter of great interest for the community.
